Fourth bomb exploded in Austin Sunday night. The first three were packages that were left on people’s properties. Which lead police to believe that they may have been “targeted” bombs. However, the latest appears to have been along the side of the road and activated by a tripwire, which suggest that the victims may be totally random. The local TV channel had been doing Breaking News updates every half hour this afternoon. Please pray for the victims and their families, pray for the investigators that they are safe and successful, and yes pray for the person or persons, who has deployed these devices, that they turn from their evil ways.
57° started the day and climbed to a sunny 80° by mid afternoon. My apologies to folks where another blizzards has you in its sites.
I had an appointment with my cardiologist for my annual checkup. Everything was good except my BMI. Even for Santa I’m too fat. I need to get that under control before I can have knee surgery next year.
I was that skinny kid who could not gain weight no matter how much I ate. Somewhere in my forties that all changed. My activity level slowed way down but I continued to eat as I always had. Those bad eating habits are hard to change because I REALLY like food. I crave the taste more than the food. So those diet aids, that make you feel full, are of no help to me.
Lunch was a baked fish patty, spinach, carrots, and hush puppies at the Leander Senior center. Once again Ella and I played a game by ourselves. I’m feeling more and more shut out by this group. I’ve called these folks friends for years so it’s hurtful to be treated as outsiders.
After lunch we went to Walmart to pick up some of Ella’s prescriptions.
Next we stopped at Winkle’s for a tube of Goop™.
I love this stuff. As well as a great waterproof adhesive, it can be spread thin as a sealant. I’ve used it to repair small holes in my RV awning, added stripes of it to the back of a throw rug to stop it from sliding on the floor, and made a waterproof patch for the inside of a tent. By the way I receive no compansation for this indorsment.
MUSINGS
LOVE SONGS
Isaiah 12:2-6
Look! God is my Savior. I am confident and unafraid, because the LORD is my strength and my song. He is my Savior.” With joy you will draw water from the springs of salvation. At that time you will say, “Praise the LORD. Call on his name. Make his deeds known among the nations. Make them remember that his name is highly honored. Make music to praise the LORD. He has done wonderful things. Let this be known throughout the earth. Shout loudly, and sing with joy, people of Zion! The Holy One of Israel is great. He is among you.”
Sing to the Lord a new song. I remember years ago hearing the song “I Will Follow Him”* by Peggy March and thinking that it could very well be a song of praise to God. Over the years I’ve heard a lot of love songs that work as well. So if you hear me singing or whistling a love tune, quite possibly I’m praising His name.
*Love him, I love him, I love him
And where he goes I’ll follow, I’ll follow, I’ll follow
I will follow him, follow him wherever he may go
There isn’t an ocean too deep
A mountain so high it can keep me away
I must follow him (follow him), ever since he touched my hand I knew
That near him I always must be
And nothing can keep him from me
He is my destiny (destiny)
I love him, I love him, I love him
And where he goes I’ll follow, I’ll follow, I’ll follow
He’ll always be my true love, my true love, my true love
From now until forever, forever, forever
I will follow him (follow him), follow him wherever he may go
There isn’t an ocean too deep
A mountain so high it can keep, keep me away
Away from my love (I love him, I love him, I love him)
I love him, I love him, I love him
And where he goes I’ll follow, I’ll follow, I’ll follow
He’ll always be my true love, my true love, my true love
From now until forever, forever, forever
I will follow him (follow him), follow him wherever he may go
There isn’t an ocean too deep
A mountain so high it can keep, keep me away
Away from my love
And where he goes I’ll follow, I’ll follow, I’ll follow
I know I’ll always love him, I love him, I love him
And where he goes I’ll follow, I’ll follow, I’ll follow
I know I’ll always love him, I love him, I love him
