2018 September 09 Sunday in Grimes and Des Moines Iowa
Started at 68° and crawled up to 72°.
Union Park UMC online bulletin said that church started at 10:00. We arrived at 9:30. The service started at 10:30. That gave us plenty of time to visit with people we hadn’t seen for a while. After church there was a hamburger lunch in the fellowship hall.
Once we were home we spent the afternoon reading, playing games, watching TV, and napping.
Shortly after five o’clock Sue came by on her Hoverround and reminded us that it was time for the employee appreciation dinner. There was a special appreciation trophy given to “The Twins” also known as “The Boys”. They are not Cutty’s employees but are everywhere in the park greeting people, helping people, and participating in all of the club activities. These twin boys are in their late 30s it early 40s and are mentally slow. By most importantly, they are two of the nicest people you will ever meet.
