2018 September 13 Thursday

2018 September 13 Thursday in Grimes, Johnston, West Des Moines, and Urbandale Iowa

62° cloudy to start the day and reached a high of 83°.

We had coffee with Keith and Jean, and Sue and at the clubhouse this morning.

Ella had an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon who told her that, because of the arthritis in her shoulder, they would be unable to repair the rotater cuff or do a typical joint replacement. However, there is a procedure called a reverse replacement that could help.

In a reverse shoulder replacement, the normal ball-and-socket structure is reversed. An artificial ball is attached to the shoulder blade. An artificial socket is attached to the top of the arm bone. The large deltoid muscle that covers the shoulder is typically able to move the arm.

There is not enough time for her to have the surgery and properly heal (3 months) before we go to Texas. She will be contacting my orthopedic surgeon in Texas. For today she just got a cortisone shot to ease the Passion

It was lunch time when we finished at the doctor’s so we stopped at KFC. We made two more stops before returning home; post office and gas station.

Once we were home there was a short nap and then to the laundry. Afterwards we went to Village Inn for supper.

G’nite y’all!
