2019 June 11 Tuesday in Cutty’s, Grimes, Rippy, and Jefferson, Iowa
55° and clear
Beautiful and kind of ominous sky in the morning.
The usual gang (Stoney and Sue, Keith and Jean, Ted and Nancy, Francis and Sandy, Ella and I, and new comers Glen and his wife) gathered in the morning at the Cutty’s cafe door coffee/tea Agnes to plan world domination … or is it to save the world from domination … I don’t remember.
From Cutty’s we all headed tio Jefferson, Iowa and the Wild Rose Casino for lunch. We had heard that, on Tuesdays, they have an all-you-can-eat fried chicken buffet go $6.
Certainly driving an hour each way in half a dozen vehicles to get a cheap meal made sense during the planning stages of this adventure.
The food was good and the fellowship fun.
We even took a very short sidetrip into Tippy which is one of the towns that Ella called home. Her father was a Methodist preacher. Every 4 to 5 years the family was moved to a new location.
God bless and g’nite
