2019 August 15 Thursday in Cutty’s, Grimes, Iowa
55° overnight, 63° by what passed as daybreak and 77° for the day’s high.
Ella & Tom, Tom & Sue, Francis, Francis & Sandy, Keith & Jean, and Bob were here for coffee this morning.
We did not go to the senior center today. I stayed home to work on constructing a box over the truck bed. Ella stayed home also … to be with me …?
She swept, mopped, and vacuumed while I stayed outside and out of her way.
I managed to get one side installed before the still ran out of power. That is why you should always have a back up battery pack our a plug-in drill. I have neither.
The drill charged enough to make a dozen shallow holes. But it was enough to drive some screws by hand. It’s not very stable but that is as far as I can go at the moment.
It only reached 77° under a cloudy sky. But it was humid enough that I had rivers of sweat running in my eyes.
Spaghetti night at the cafe. So here I am waiting to be served the food of the gods. I’m also trying to rehydrate.
God bless and g’nite
