2019 August 17 Saturday in Cutty’s, Grimes, Iowa
63° and cloudy that reached 86° even though still cloudy. A very brief spoty rain shower passed through I late afternoon that didn’t drop the temperature our humidity.
Not a very welcoming sky this morning.
Hello, Sunshine, feeling a little shy about showing your face today?
I dropped Ella and our dirty clothes off at the laundry on Cutty’s Main Street and then drove to Union Park UMC for a United Methodist Men’s meeting.
It was posted on the church website … however, I was there all alone. So I went back to Cutty’s cafe for coffee with friends.
Francis and Sandy, Sue, Ella,
Jean and Keith. Stoney was around somewhere out of camera range. We didn’t solve even one of the world’s problems today. It must be the weekend.
.
The Clubhall (Townhall) meeting started at 10:30 and ended at 11:30. The members were given 5 minutes each (if they signed up) to address the board and members. The usual things like the need to repair roads and upgrade electrical systems. These concerns have been brought up I every meeting for the last 6 years (at least) and yet other than “we have discussed it” or “we are looking into our options”, nothing seems to move forward. Concerns were also voiced about a perceived falling membership.
We came home and cooked some steaks for lunch.
I worked some more on the truckbed box. I need to find a better name/description for this thing I’m constructing.
God bless and g’nite
