and clear overnight with a predicted high of 80° and an actual high of 85°.

e attended Grandies this morning. There was a good turnout considering how many at were out sick.

s usual,we stayed and played canasta after the meeting.

fter Grandies some of us went to Golden Chick for lunch.

rom there Ella and I went to Home Depot in Cedar Park. I wanted 3 2x4s and a sheet of plywood. I wanted the plywood cut from 1 4×8 sheet to 2 2×8 sheets. This is a free service that that they offer. I ask a woman, with a home Depot orange apron. For help. She said she’d call someone. About 1/2 hi hour later I saw her speaking speaking to a man in an presage orange apron. She nodded toward me. He glanced my way, saw me watching, and quickly averted his eyes and walked away. I waited another 1/2 hour while several more employees strolled past. I gave up and left. In the past I’ve always gotten good service at Home Depot, which makes this more disappointing.

hoir practice went well tonight. For me personally it could have been better if I hadn’t had a case of the burps.

God bless and g’nite.

48° and clear overnight.

I had an 8:40 AM appointment with Dr. Borick the orthopedic doctor. I was hoping to schedule surgery on my knee. However, he will not do the surgery unless I lose 40 pounds.

From there we web went to the pharmacy for my prescription. Th The doctors office has increased my dosage to twice a day. However they only ordered 30 pills which is no longer a month’s supply.

We went to the Leander Senior Center for lunch and to play games. Today it was Rummikube.

God bless and g’nite.

It rained about 1/2″ overnight.

The Georgetown senior center had breakfast for lunch today: sausage patties, fried potatoes, and French toast sticks. I gave the French toast to Ella. While we were there we picked up some bread and a buttermilk pie.

It was a mild day with a high of 75.

We went nowhere else today. I had time to get caught up on TV that I’d recorded.

God bless and g’nite.

A strange rosey sky in the morning. Started at 57°, climbed to 88°, and colored top 79° by bedtime. Not much to write about today.

Children’s time.

Pastor Saints sermon.

Clouds in the southeast at sunset.

God bless and g’nite.

  • 2019 October 19 Saturday in Liberty Hill, Texas

I really wish that pole in the photo. But I was feeling too lazy to move to a better spot from which to take the photo.

I had trouble getting to sleep last last night. And in spite of what the above chart shows, i didn’t go back to sleep after 6:30. I didn’t get up (except to take a sunrise photo), but I didn’t sleep.

We had a late breakfast of hashbrowns, bacon, toast, and eggs.

2:30 PM and the inside temperature is 90°

And The outside temperature our is 89°.

And Rudolf the red nosed truck read 95° in the shade. We went for a drive to let the wind blow through to cool us. We checked for mail at the mailbox and then went to the post office and checked the mail there also. We also stopped at Dairy Queen to cool us inside and out.

Then we continued our aimless drive for about an hour and 36+ miles.

When we returned home, it was 90° outside

and 96° inside

We choose to sit under our awning on the east side of the RV. A nice little breeze made it seem cooler than it really was.

The plan here was to stow this stuff in an orderly fashion. I think the new plan is to build a shelf with an edge (to keep stuff from sliding off) at the front. Friday the 25th we will be hauling a load off aluminum cans to the recycle center in Marble Falls.

Yesterday I forgot to mention that we came home to a grass fire in the goat pen. The pen is my just acrossed a gravel drive from our home. The owner was out there with a water hose, dousing the fire.

God bless and g’nite.

Day 19 in our Texas home.

2019 October 18 Friday

rvngfulltimewithtomandella.com

  • 2019 October 18 Friday in Liberty Hill, Texas
Above is what morning is like in or Texas home today.

Below is what our friends in Iowa woke to today. Not much difference, until you notice the wind warning.

Before leaving home I made 4 hamburger patties and froze them. I also mixed a meatloaf and put it in the refrigerator to cook later.

While we were gone this summer, another donut shop opened. Ella had an apple fritter. I had a crosant with sauge, egg, cheese, and jalapeno.

We went to th the Georgetown senior center today. There were only a handful of people there and not all stayed for lunch. Lunch was a chief salad, which may be why so so few people were there.

It was 79° outside and 84° inside when we arrived home. We opened windows and door. With the fans going, it cooled a lot. Still not as nice as outside though.

For supper i cooked the meatloaf in the Instapot. And baked potatoes in the microwave.

God bless and g’nite.

Day 18 in our Texas home.

2019 October 17 Thursday

rvngfulltimewithtomandella.com

  • 2019 October 17 Thursday in Liberty Hill, Texas

45° overnight. Yes, I did turn on some heat after we woke. The temp stabilized at about 73° from midday until sunset.

We called Heather to wish her a happy 38th birthday. She had the day off from work and a 6 hour spa appointment.

Over The Hill Gang served chili today. It smelled really good. Unfortunately it contained onions. So while Ella and the rest were going through the serving line, I went to QuikTrip for gasoline in Rudolf the red nosed pickup. I then stopped at Sonic for a burger, tator-tots, and ice tea. I wish that there was a Whataburger close to Liberty Hill

We stayed to play canasta after lunch. We didn’t think we would be able to stay and play today, because Ella had an appointment with her ENT doctor. However, she received a call this morning th that it would be rescheduled for a week from today.

At the end of the second round of canasta, the game broke up and everyone left. We drove to Wal-Mart for Ella’s latest prescription.

God bless and g’nite.

2019 October 16 Wednesday in Liberty Hill, Texas

Very nice sleeping weather … after midnight … up until then, it was kinda sticky.

It is Wednesday, which means it is Grandies meeting in the morning.

And canasta after The meeting. We had enough for two tables of six players each and a table of of for playing bridge. And not everyone stayed to play games.

Hobo Junction was the restaurant of choice for most of the Grandies after the meeting.

The setting st sun before Choir practice

Choir practice

The amazing sky as we were leaving choir.God bless and g’nite.

2019 October 15 Tuesday in Liberty Hill, Texas

75° and sprinkles

Ella had a doctor appointment this morning. She was given a prescription for an antibacterial pill. Several of her other RXs were also given new prescriptions.

There was lunch at the Georgetown senior center. On the drive over there, I received a callback from one of the RV repair people and set up a time for them to come checkout our air conditioner this evening. After After lunch we went to the pharmacy to pickup Ella’s medications. Once home we had time for a little nap with the fans blowing on us.

The RV tech and his partner/wife arrived about 5:30. As I understand it, the electrical power goes to a board on the furnace, then to the thermostat, and finally to the air conditioner. The board at the furnace had power, but it wasn’t getting to the old-fashioned analog thermostat.Rather than go to the expense of running new wiring, it was suggested changing the controls on the air conditioner and bypassing the thermostat completely. It’s a part they do not have on hand. They left at 6:30 which gave us time to go to the Tuesday evening prayer meeting.

Good bless and g’nite.

Day 15 in our Texas home.

2019 October 14 Monday

rvingfulltimewithtomandella.com

2019 October 14 Monday (Columbus Day) in Liberty Hill, Texas

65° with complete cloud cover. It reached 85° still mostly cloudy.

It was a good day to sleep in. Being Columbus Day, the senior center was closed. That meant that there was no place to go. Since we got out of bed late, I fixed a larger than normal breakfast. I halved a slice of cornbread (top from bottom) and fried it in some butter until golden brown. I also made some French toast using some rather dry sourdough bread. Scrambled eggs and crisp bacon finished the meal.

This evening we have a potluck to attend, which will be our large meal for the day. So Ella is making bread pudding to take.

Not wanting to heat the inside of our home anymore than it already is (85°), I brought the convection oven outside under the awning.

In October 2012 we were at Shady Oaks Riverside Retreat in the beautiful highland lakes area of the Texas hill country.

The following October we were at Rio Bonito RV Park just a few miles northeast of Liberty Hill, Texas.

In 2014 we were staying at Stocktank RV park for the first time. We have been here every year since then, although not on the same site each time. In 2018 we were assigned our present site. We like it. So, we keep our unit on this site yearround now.

now.

The Emmaus meeting was at the First United Methodist Church in Burnet (18 miles from home). The potluck was at 6 with the meeting at 7.

Good bless and g’nite.
