2019 April 25 Thursday in Liberty Hill and Leander, Texas

54° start that reached 82° under clear skies.

Sunrise and sunset today look very much the same. Just a big ball of white hot light sitting on the horizon.

It is laundry day, which means a trip to Leander and the laundromat.

“Take your receipt” the pump said. No receipt printed. I didn’t want my poor old knees to walk all the way into the store and back again. So I took a photo, added the date, and added it to my digital receipt file.

Now that Rudolf the red nosed pickup had his fill of gasoline, it was time for us to fill our tanks also. Thanks to Dairy Queen, we had a nice cool place tho sit and eat until Ella’s therapy session.

And speaking our her therapy, she got to ring the graduation bell today. She has completed physical therapy. She still is working on gaining more strength and range of motion. But that will be on her own.

With no clouds, there would be no dramatic afterglow tonight. So, I caught the sun just as it touched the treetops.

God bless and g’nite

2019 April 24 Wednesday

rvingfulltimewithtomandella.com

2019 April 24 Wednesday in Liberty Hill and Cedar Park, Texas

The first part of the storm came and went by 7:30. I slept through most of it. But there is more predicted for this afternoon and evening.

That’s a lot out rain and wind.

We went to Grandies this morning and stayed to play canasta. We have only one more meeting with this group before heading to our summer home in Iowa. Next Wednesday will be celebrating birthdays, and anniversaries. We will also celebrate our leaving. Wait! That doesn’t sound right. Let’s call it a Going Away Party.

After Grandies we stopped at Wal-Mart for a few perishable items. We are trying to eat all of the perishables before we leave. We had penne pasta with meat sauce for supper today. That used the last of the ground beef from the freezer. There will be some things like condiments that we will pack in a cooler and take with us. But the least we have to carry the better. At the same time there are some things such as milk, eggs, bacon, and bread that we needed NOW.It was now well past lunch time. We drove through KFC as the rain began to pick up. It got so strong that I pulled into a parkinglot to wait it out. We found out in the evening news that the rain had been driven by 60 mph winds.

Those white streaks are sheets of rain as seen from our truck.

We just sat there and had a picnic in the truck. Once the worst of it had past through we drove on home. With the groceries put away, it was nap time.

I took a nap while the worst of another round of storms went through.

Around 6 pm the rain stopped again and the sun almost broke through.

By 7:30 the sky was clearing and the sun shone brightly.

7:45..

8 pm

Now for something completely different. An experiment in continuous line draw drawing that I did during the Grandies meeting this morning. The first one used loos and circles whereas the second used more line.

God bless and g’nite

2019 April 23 Tuesday

2019 April 23 Tuesday in Liberty Hill and Georgetown, Texas

64° and cloudy. It reached 72 again.

The radar indicates we are getting rain but I don’t see any all day but I did hear a very brief rain pass over while we we’re home in the afternoon.

Another small crowd at the center today. I guess the fritos pie didn’t appeal to some folks.

The Fritos “pie” came ‘some assembly required’.

Ella’s therapy was from 5:30-6:30 today.

Because we had only a 1/2 hour between her therapy and the Tuesday night prayer meeting, I went online and ordered meals from Subway. I ordered them for pickup at 6:30. Online ordering sure is a time saver.

.We made it to church with time to spare.

The sunset tonight looked like a forest fire.

There are storms about 100 miles north of us that have prompted flash flood warnings near us.

Our storm chances are tomorrow.

God bless and g’nite

2019 April 22 Monday

rvingfulltimewithtomandella.com

2019 April 22 Monday in Liberty Hill and Georgetown, Texas

64° and cloudy and reached 79° under a mostly cloudy sky. By sunset it was completely cloudy again.

The senior center served wild rice topped with chicken breast and brown mushroom gravy. Sides were collard greens and beets. I have to be careful about eating too many dark green vegetables because the vitamin K they contain counteracts my blood thinner medication. I like boiled beets with butter and salt. However, these beets had a syrupy sweet sauce on them that I did not care for.

There is some rain headed our direction. It doesn’t appear to be a storm, just rain.

I’m glad I took this shot at 7:15 p.m. because shortly after this, the sun vanished into a grey foggy cloud bank.

God bless and g’nite

2019 April 20 Saturday in Liberty Hill, Texas

After taking this shot of the moon just before moonset, I went back to bed and missed the sunrise.

47° and clear that became 82° and clear..

It was a beautiful morning to sit outside and enjoy the wildflowers. No they’re not dandelions, they are salsify.

After a calm and peaceful day, the sun fell from the sky.

.God bless and g’nite

2019 April 19 Good Friday

rvingfulltimewithtomandella.com

2019 April 19 Good Friday in Liberty Hill, Texas

51° and clear. Stayed clear and reached 72°.

I didn’t sleep well last night. I was awake at least part of each hour from midnight on. According to my biometric watch, I had less than 2 hours of deep sleep altogether and not more than 15 minutes at a time.

With nothing on our “have-to-do” list other than a short choir practice before the Good Friday tenebrae service, we stayed home and did very little. Oh I added a second handrail to our deck steps. The steps are four foot wide and I originally only installed a handrail on one side. I left the other side open so that, when bringing groceries home, I could set them on the deck without climbing the steps with each load. I have decided that, if I added a shorter rail on the other side, I would still be able to set groceries and other things on the deck. I now realize that I should have taken photos.

I also helped a neighbor by tightening her newly installed LP hoses. We also invited her to the worship services this weekend. And she was there for the tenebrae service.

By the time the worship service was over, the sun had set. So no photo tonight.

God bless and g’nite

2019 April 18 Thursday in Liberty Hill, Texas

55° and light fog this morning after a trailer rocking storm very early this morning. We didn’t get much rain locally (.36″) but in other areas it was enough to bringthe lakes back to 100%. It reached a high of 72°.

Here the fog was allowing just a glimpse out a sunrise.

I used a app called Painnt to render a photo of me tho look painted. I like it. What do you think?

Next year our chapel will be 150 years old. We no longer hold worship service there because it it’s typo small. However it is used nearly day of the week for other events at the church as well as weddings and funerals. I’m not sure what events are planned tho celebrate the 150th anniversary. I did know that out will be “spruced up” before then.

rvingfulltimewithtomandella.com

2019 April 17 Wednesday in Liberty Hill, Texas

It was already 70° to start the day. As you can see in the photo, it was also completely overcast.

Grandies this morning.

Home for lunch and nap

Choir practice in the evening was extremely frustrating for new tonight. I’m very hard of hearing and have to concentrate to hear and fully understand. I don’t know why people were loudly chatting while the choir director was speaking, but I missed most of the directions she was trying to give. And then we practiced a piece with a clarinet accompaniment. The clarinet was right next to me and she was very loud. I could hear neither the piano nor the rest of the choir. Another choir member even asked her to tone it down. She didn’t. We were practicing music that should be a joyful celebration of the risen Christ, however I allowed all these distractions to steal my joy. I may no sit with the choir on Easter morning, so that I can enjoy the service.

No sunset and no photo.

There is a severe thunderstorm warning far pour area until 2 in the morning

That’s all the fun I can stand for one day.

God bless and g’nite

Last night’s moon through the clouds. The clouds were moving so fast that it took a half dozen shots to capture the moon before it was covered once again with another cloud.

62° and cloudy with wind this morning and reached a humid 79°. It was still in the 60s at 11p.m.

Ella didn’t get much sleep last night and since the senior centre was only serving salads for lunch, We took our time getting out of bed this morning.

Staying home also meant getting some things done around home. Ella managed tho straighten somethings in the shed. I realigned our sewer hose and the proper slope. I also screwed the various components together so that they will remain stable and aligned.

We went to the doctor to received the results of our last tests. They had been posted on the patient portal but we weren’t able to get in and retrieve them.

I saw a couple of Junebugs on the sidewalk in front of the doctor’s office. This is midApril. How can there be Junebugs?

Our next stop was to fill a couple of LP bottles. That way they will be ready when we return in the fall.

In the late afternoon Ella had therapy.

.

After therapy we drive through Chicken Express to get some supper before going to the Tuesday night prayer merging.

I almost missed the sunset.

53° and clear that reached 79° in spite of some rather gusty winds.

Just look at that sun coming up next to a dove shaped cloud.

Still a small group at the senior center today. I thought more folks would show up for (not quite) hot chicken wings.

Ella beat me two out of three today at Rummikube.

Arik invited us out for supper tonight at Mandela’s restaurant. It has been around four months since we have seen that family. Sofia has her schedule for when she starts high school next fall. And Beket has his for junior high. These kids are getting old!

We came home and sat outside for awhile. I also got another daylight shot of the moon.

As well as this sunset. I didn’t think we had enough clouds for a spectacular sunset. Wrong!

God bless and g’nite
