2019 September 21 Saturday in Cutty’s, Grimes, Iowa
72° and completely overcast and headed for a predicted high of 76°
This is what we have instead of a sunrise today.
I called Amber to wish her a happy birthday and we spoke for a little over half an hour. I got brought up to speed on the grandkids also.
Today’s topics for discussion at Cutty’s Coffee Club at the cafe were, tiny houses/park modle RVs, RVs, hoarders, hot sauce, kids in church, absent friends, and accidents.
We made a stop at the Wal-Mart pharmacy for Ella’s pills and to get our flue shots. Yes, I got mine also.
We drove to Prairie City for tenderloins. I haven’t had a really good breaded pork tenderloin sandwich in a long time. (For you southerners, a tenderloin is like a chickenfried steak with pork.) They were well worth the half hour drive and the half hour standing in line. The sandwiches were about 9″ in diameter and the meat was 3/8″or more. We also had the frog eye salad. That was neither a typo nor an autocorrect fail. The frog eye salad had mandarin oranges, mini marshmallows, mayo, and tapioca (the frog eyes).
As you can see in the photos, it’s a very small ice cream shop. We arrived around 12:30 and were seated at the counter about 1:00. When we left at 1:45 the place was still full but there was no longer a waiting line outside in the rain … yeah people stood out in the rain to get into this place … that’s how good the food is.
God bless and g’nite
