y the way, I just saw that it is a chilly 78° in Miami Florida. We should pray for their safety in this harsh weather. Grinhis morning I laid in bed for quite some time, reading and writing for my devotions blog. With nothing on my “Have To Do” list for today.I have worked to finish the second shelf on the truck topper. I accomplished several things before the drill ran out of power. While it recharged, I rested. I did finish the shelves and started putting things on them. And once again I failed to take a photo.I grilled a couple of huge t-bone steaks for lunch. There was room for the baked potato on the plate. The peas, however, had to wait until we had eaten enough steak and potato to make room for them.At 2:30 the outside temperature wss 71° and the inside was 78° even with the door open. Moo heat, just passive solar.God bless and g’nite.

s the frost on this bush melted, it left behind small water drops that bejeweled the shrubbery.s the sunlight swept across the frosted ground, the first hint of winter melted away.ur A/C is once again working. The repairman arrived just as I finished installing the first shelf in the truck topper. If I weren’t so tired, I go out and take a photo of my handy work. I wss unable to complete the second shelf because I needed to get ready for my doctor’s appointment..octor Crimmons gave me a clean bill of health. However, after the holidays, he wants Mrs to schedule a stress test.e tried the new Star buffet in Cedar Park. My favorite was the battered butterfly shrimp. Ella’s wss the coconut shrimp. The BBQ ribs were to sweet for my liking. But if you like sweet BBQ, there ya go. The hot and spicy soup was also very good. It is so full of good stuff that you can eat it with a fork, which I did ’cause I forgot to get a spoon. If course we couldn’t sample everything, so we willi have to go back.God bless and g’nite.

nce the sun came up … yes,

sunshine! … It began to warm, especially my soul. This is the sun lighting the living room curtain.

early every Thursday I post something about being at the Over the Hill Gang. So I did a video walkthrough to show the place to you. Video. And below are some photos to show how it fills up at lunch time.

es the police are on hand at nearly every meeting. They come and greet people and hand us the trays as we go through the serving line. One of them also makes ice cream in the machine every week unless called away on duty.

hese are the leftovers from lunch. Many will come back for second servings or to fill a to-go container.

ontinued emptying of the topper in preparation for the shelving I will install. I’m also working to water/weather proof it.

God bless and g’nite.

2019 October 30 Wednesday

  • 2019 October 30 Wednesday in Liberty Hill, Texas

nother beautiful day of fog and cold rain. It almost seems like upper Midwest weather

t got down to freezing overnight. And it was dang chilly (41°} at 9 AM. The overnights for the next several days are also supposed to be in the lower 30s.

his is the Grandies group today, all 12 of us. Ignore the sign that reads Over The Hill Gang. We’ve been using their building since the Cross Tracks Church Fellowship Hall burnt last spring. It works out fine because most of us (maybe all) are members of both.

Of course we stayed to play canasta. Originally there were six who raised their hand to indicate that they wanted play. However, after we had the Trafford set for six, one person left. So we decided to play a table of four and I would sit out and be score keeper. Bill, Karen, Ann, and Ella played the first hand or two, then Ann bowed out and let me finish the game.

nce home, we turned the fireplace on, cuddled intro or recliners, and put a blanket throw over us.

ome time later, I started unloading the truck topper inn preparation for installing shelves in the front. However, it began to rain and I retreated to the recliner once again.

worked on posting some devotions and Armchair Sermon©.

God bless and g’nite.

47° and fog to start the day. And it reached a foggy high of 48° buy 2 PM.

ore fog and a little rain this morning.

ingo was played at the Georgetown senior center today. Yay! It has been a very long time since we have had bingo. There was trouble with the machine. You can see, in the center of the photo, the large message board that lights with the numbers called. It is perfect for us who are hard of hearing.

The fog never lifted at all today and it remained cold.

got a callback from the RV repairman about our air conditioner. He can get a replacement board from the manufacture for about $195.

God bless and g’nite.

  • 2019 October 28 Monday in Liberty Hill, Texas

oggy overcast that started the day and there was little change throughout the day. 52° to 74°.

t looks like an interesting 10 days ahead. At least we won’t need the air conditioning which still hadn’t been repaired.

unch at the Georgetown senior center was chicken spaghetti. Chunks of chicken on a creamy cheese sauce over spaghetti noodles. If it had been elbow macaroni, it would have been mac and cheese with chicken chunks. The was a lettuce salad, cooked carrots, spiced apple, and garlic bread.

his wasn’t sunset but it was interesting.

God bless and g’nite.

astor John Saint’s sermon, Tale of Two Prayers.

e went with friends to Cherry Creek Catfish after church. Ella had shrimp and I had south of the boarder catfish. We had a coupon for buy one, get one free. That made it possible for us to have a nice meal without spending as much.

s a plate of potato chips we being passed around, a chip fell onto Ella’s plate and landed standing vertically in the tail of a shrimp.

rik and Jenny invited us over for supper and pumpkin carving. However, they had been unable to find pumpkins. Out was alright with me rusty there were no pumpkins; it meant more time to sit and visit. We had fajitas for super.

n our way home, while we were still in the city, a buck deer ran across 5 lanes of traffic in front of us.

God bless and g’nite.

2019 October 26 Saturday

  • 2019 October 26 Saturday in Liberty Hill, Texas

slept longer than usual today. Then I continued to lay in bed for quite awhile after that. Therefore there is no sunrise photo today.

About 8 3/4 hours of sleep! I’m usually lucky to stay asleep for 6 hours. And the added bonus of having no where to go and nothing to do. Yay!

e managed to get quite a bit of cleaning and clearing things away. Some things still don’t have their place, as in a place for everything and everything in its place.

everal packages arrived today containing 28oz. canned meats (chicken, ground beef, and beef roast). We discovered Keystone canned meats by accident several years ago. When you live full-time in an RV, storage space is at a premium and never more so than in the standard RV freezer and refrigerator. Keeping fresh or frozen meat had sometimes been a challenge. Also we are away from home nearly all day everyday. So it is convenient to be able to open a can of the main ingredient in most entrees, meat. (No I’m not sponsered by them and make nothing if you purchase their products.)

The sky was clear of clouds, so the sunset was just, the sky, the sun, and the horizon.

God bless and g’nite.

e my met at the church and loaded the back of our pickup with the collected aluminim cans. Ella adds I took the cans to the recycle center in Marble Falls. The rest of our group went ahead to the Blue Bonnet Cafe and secured a table for us. It It is a very busy placed. As a were were leaving, there were about 30 people waiting in line to enter the restaurant.

his is the remains of our church’s offices, fellowship hall, and daycare. In May of this year it was struck by lightening and was completely destroyed by fire. Eventually a new office complex will be built in it’s place.

We ate very well at the Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls.

love the fact that there are still flowering plants at this time of year.

.

e did a little sight seeing also today. So, the millage is a little higher than the 80 miles that the roundtrip would have been. We went to the Llano Sleep Slab in Kingsland.

his is truely a lovely place to just sit and watch the water flow over all the various colors of rocks and sand in the pools. This brief video really doesn’t do it justice.

God bless and g’nite.

and cloudy overnight with a predicted high of 77° and rain

e attended Over the Hill Gang this morning. They served lasagna, lettuce salad, garlic bread, pinto beans (there it’s always pinto beans), beats, pickled okra and jalapeno, pineapple and lots of desserts.

fter Over the Hill Gang we went to Ella’s ENT doctor in Cedar Park. Her audiogram showed no change from last year. The physical examination showed inflammation of the ear but not infection. She was given a script for a different antibacterial medication.

hen it was time to go to the laundromat in Leander and wash our clothes. Although we share most household chores, over the years, I’ve done most of the cooking while Ella does most of the laundry. For me the visit to the laundromat generally means nap time. I may wake on time to assist with folding clothes … but not always. I usually carry the clothes in and out. My other help with the laundry is to add the detergent to the to top of the machines.

hile driving through the RV park, we noticed one of our neighbors cleaning out her can car. So, we stopped to visit for a while.

nce home, the laundry was can carried in and I started a supper of turkey with gravy, eerie rice and corn.

hile we were eating, it began to rain. Not much but anything is welcome.God bless and g’nite.
