Good morning!

Gray skies are gonna clear up
Put on a happy face
Brush off the clouds and cheer up
Put on a happy face
Take of the gloomy mask of tragedy
It’s not your style
You’ll look so good that you’ll be glad
You decided to smile
Pick out a pleasant outlook
Stick out that noble chin
Wipe off that full-of-doubt look
Slap on a happy grin
And spread sunshine all over the place
And put on a happy face
Gray skies are gonna clear up
Put on a happy face
Brush off the clouds and cheer up
Put on a happy face
And if you’re feeling cross and bitterish
Don’t sit and whine
Think of banana splits and licorice
And you’ll feel fine
I know a girl so gloomy
She never laugh or sing
She wouldn’t listen to me
Now she’s a mean old thing
So spread sunshine all over the place
And put on a happy, happy face
Put on a happy, happy, happy face
Oh, come on bubby, smile it’s your birthday

  • 2019 November 21 Ella’s birthday Thursday in Liberty Hill, Texas

t began raining about 7:30 this morning. It quit raining about 7:35. It didn’t even register on the radar.

y internal clock woke me at 5 and I started working on a devotion for the day. Then I worked more on the sermon that I began yesterday.

I was passed by an ambulance and a fire truck this morning as I was on my way to work. It appears that there was an accident on Highway 29 East of the intersection with 183 at Seward Junction.

nother exciting day at the mall. It would be nice to have enough people to play bridge. Not that we’d play cards, but still it would be nice to have 4 people shopping somewhere in the mall.

opefully, when the schools go on break, we will see more kids. Last year the kids were already on break but this time. However, Thanksgiving it’s 6 days later this year. Which also means that the shopping days between Thanksgiving and Christmas are also nearly a week fewer.

God bless and g’nite.

t looks like a nice week ahead, weatherwise. This morning might not be as bright and cheery as yesterday, but we had the door open and enjoyed the temperature and the breeze.

t was a very slow day for Santa and even slower for the photographer. I had children come to talk to Santa that didn’t have photos taken. I also had two large groups of co-worker adults who came to get group shots. Both groups were from different stores in the mall. So that should give you an idea of how un-busy the mall stores were, that they could lock their stores down and come for a photo shoot.

ight more days until Thanksgiving. Nine more days until Black Friday. Black Friday could go either way for the Santa set. Moms, who are shopping, may send dad with the kids to get photos. Or they may not bring the kids at all. However, after Thanksgiving the crowds willi start forming to see Santa.

he sunset was amazing. And I’m amazed that the photo turned out as well as it did, because I took the shot out the driverside window as I was driving home.

God bless and g’nite.

t took a while but the sun came up this morning bright and cheery.

here was a accident along my route this morning. This is a really poor video. I was blindly aiming the camera while I kept my eyes on the road and the traffic.

nd this was the stop and go traffic that was a part of my drive home.

nd this was the setting sun as I journeyed homeward.

lla had prepared meatloaf and roasted potatoes for supper.

fter supper we went to the Tuesday night prayer meeting. We sang many hymns and prayed for many people places and things

esterday’s weather had gone into reruns this morning. I find I’m without anything blog-worthy to report.

I went to work and I return home only stopping to add fuel to Rudolf the red nosed pickup.

nce again, I drove into the setting sun, only to arrive too late to snap a good photo.

God bless and g’nite.

rom church we drove to Longhorns Steakhouse in Georgetown. Ella and I both had the flatiron steak, her’s medium rare, mine rare.

fter lunch we drove to the laundromat on Leander.

e drove home from the laundromat with a stop at the church to pick up some stones from our fellowship hall that burned last spring. I’m using some puff the stones as a barrier at the edge of our parking area at the Stocktank RV park. Ella has a craft project in mind for three of the stones. We also stopped at Parker’s for some milk before getting back to our home site.

God bless and g’nite.

here were no real cloud in the sky, just a general haze* and some contrails from highflying jets.

Do see that gate behind me? My dressing room is behind there. It is locked and I have not been given a key. It takes a little time to make the change from mild mannered blogger to the supper hero known as Santa. And I did get in with enough time to transform.

When I left work. I headed straight to the pharmacy for Ella’s medication. Okay, as you can see, it wasn’t exactly “straight” to the pharmacy. Nothing in the Texas hill country follows a straight path.

t doesn’t look like $100.00 + but it was. And I didn’t get the milk that I was sure was on the list yesterday, but not today.

his is what the sky looked like a little after four this afternoon. The smoky haze is still in the air.

God bless and g’nite.

ey there, sunshine, I’ve missed your smiling face. Where’ve you been keepin’ yourself?

rost covered three ground this morning. But It should melt away very sun as the sun’s rays land I it.

anta had fun as usual, even though it wasn’t very busy. I had a sleeping baby brought to me. I did the finger to the lips indicating the shhh sound. The little guy slept through having his clothes changed to his Christmas finery, as well as being handed from person to person and his head turned to face the camera.

also had a 2-3 year old boy with autism. He didn’t appear to be bothered by the mall lights and sounds. He also was quite willing to sit on Santa’s lap. What he wouldn’t do was smile or stay focused on the camera. We managed to get a photo that Mom was pleased with. She told me that she had another child with immune deficiencies and ask if I do home visits. I assured her that I am available for evening visits.

I made it home as the sun was already below the trees on the horizon. I had spent the last six miles driving into the low hanging sun. So I’d hoped to get a photo as it reached the treetops. But no such luck.

God bless and g’nite.

2019 November 14 Thursday

nother concrete colored sky today, complete with drizzle.

‘m trying to think of how to tell this tale and where to begin. Not at the beginning because that was too long ago and not too specific because … Well that’s private.

So I’m starting this story approximately two months ago. There is a medication that I’ve taken for years. Recently It appeared that the dosage needed to be increased. Instead of taking one tablet everyday, I would take one tablet three days a week and two tablets four times a week. That sounded simple to me. However it also meant that my current prescription of 30 didn’t provide enough pills to make it through a month when I needed 46.

A new prescription was called into the pharmacy. At this point I’m not sure if it was the falt of the person from the doctor’s office or the person at the pharmacy, but there was some miscommunication that resulted in me getting 30 pills and instruction to take one pill 4 days a week. Talking to the pharmacy clerk resulted in receiving that vacant-I-don’t-understsnd-the-problem-look.

Rather than trying to untangle that particular snarled thread of thought, I waited a week until I had an inperson appointment with the doctor on November 1. I explained to him what had happen and he said that he would order 90 tablets.

I went to the pharmacy that evening and was told they didn’t show receiving the order. I went back on the second and was told the same thing. I went back on the 5th and was again told that there was nothing for me. I gave up going to the pharmacy.

The 6th and 7th I was busy with things and forgot to contact the doctor.the 8th I started working as a mall Santa during the hours that the doctor had office hours. 9th and 10th were weekends and the office was closed.

On the 11th I asked Ella to call the doctor. She did. He called in a second order of 90 tablets. Now I’m a little unsure how the message got back to Ella, but the message was that the pharmacy had filled the order on the 1st and that, since I failed to pick them up, they had put then back in stock. Grrrr!!!!

This morning (the 14th) on my way to work, I stopped to pick up the pills and was told that the insurance wouldn’t cover it because it was too soon to need a refill. I argued that it was not a refill because I never got the first order. I got that same blank stare from that same clerk.

I told her to forget the insurance and that I would pay the full non-copay amount in cash. She smiled and said that they would be ready in 20 minutes! They have had the order for 2 to 3 days and It wasn’t ready! I couldn’t wait because I needed to continue to work.

I stopped on my way home and picked up my pills Ann’s paid full price.

As I was leaving Wal-Mart I called Dominos in Liberty Hill and ordered a pizza for pickup. I arrived at the pizza place only to be told that I had ordered it at the OTHER Dominos in Liberty Hill. So I back tracked about 5 miles and got my pizza. Boy, was I ever glad to get home!

God bless and g’nite.

o sunshine in the east. It is so completely overcast that there are not any edges to the clouds.

ust before we left home this morning the sun made an attempt to shine through. It still looks more like a cottonball caught in the top of that bush, than the sun.

lla went to Grandies this morning. I dropped her of at the Over The Hill Gang building on my way to work.

ur monthly choir party was tonight.
